After a few weeks of perfecting a pizza recipe for you all, here it is! Many of you all have asked for an easy, yet delicious dough recipe and I immediately thought homemade pizza! This recipe is extremely easy and I actually made 2 different pizzas with the dough! I topped this delicious Italian dough with my special homemade pizza sauce, perfectly shredded mozzarella and Italian cheese, and fresh, colorful vegetables! The fun thing about pizza, is you can add whatever toppings you like! These are just my all-time favorites that I love to sprinkle on top of this perfect recipe!
Corn can sometimes throw people off when they see it on pizzas, but I promise you won't regret the sweet yet slightly crunchy texture it brings!
You can buy ready-made pizza sauce but the one I shared has the perfect Italian blend of spices and takes only a few minutes to make!
One of the first meals I ever made for my family was pizza. They absolutely loved every bite and it was something I made monthly for them! Over the years, I have continued to tweak things in my pizza recipe to make it absolutely perfect. I tried different cheeses, mixed different vegetables, and tried many different techniques with the dough.
This pizza recipe by far was my favorite one! The dough wasn't too fluffy, but also wasn't as thin as a flatbread. The sauce had just the right amount of flavor so to not overpower the beautiful fresh vegetables I threw on top! It's a perfect blend on all my favorite things about pizza!
Prep Time: 25 minutes Yields: 30 Biscottis
Rise Time: 60 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour, and 45 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
For the Dough:
1 cup Warm Water
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1 tsp. Sugar
1 Packet Active Dry Yeast (2 1/4 tsp.)
3 cups All-Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
For the Pizza Sauce:
4 oz. Tomato Paste
6 oz. Tomato Sauce
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Italian Seasoning
1/2 tsp. Basil
1/2 tsp. Oregano
For the Cheese and Toppings:
1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Italian Cheese, shredded
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese, shredded
1/2 Green Bell Pepper, sliced
1/4 Orange Bell Pepper, sliced
1/3 cup Fresh Corn
1/4 cup Black Olives
1/4 cup Roma Tomatoes, chopped
1/4 cup White Mushrooms, sliced
1 Tbsp. Fresh Basil, minced
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a large bowl, add in the water, oil, and sugar and lightly mix them together. Sprinkle the yeast on top of the mixed ingredients and allow it to activate, about 5 minutes, until the foam starts to form.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and salt together. Gradually pour it into the yeast mixture and mix with a stand mixer and hook or a wooden spoon until you have mixed in all of the flour mix with the wet ingredients.
On a floured surface, flip out the dough and begin kneading it for about 2 minutes until you have a good dough consistency, not sticky and fairly smooth.
Oil the bowl with about 2 Tbsp. of olive oil and return the ball of dough into the bowl. Cover it tightly with plastic wrap and allow it to sit for about an hour until the dough has more than doubled in size.
Remove it from the bowl onto a floured surface and punch the dough down to release the air. Knead the dough for another minute and begin rolling it out into however many pizzas you like - I made a large pizza and a small one both 1/4 inch in thickness.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
In the meantime, mix all the ingredients for the pizza sauce until you have a smooth and combined consistency.
Spread the pizza sauce onto the dough.
Top the sauce with desired cheeses and vegetables/toppings.
Bake the pizza for 15-18 minutes if you want a fluffier and softer crust, or 20-24 minutes for a crispier dough!
Serve and enjoy!
