This Banana Pudding recipe is a fan favorite among both my family and my husband's family! They request it every time we get together and I don't mind because it is extremely simple to make with very little ingredients! The sweetness of the banana and the subtle vanilla taste of the wafers are the perfect treat to share with your family!
I love using mini dessert bowls to make individual pudding plates for my guests! It's easier to serve, especially if you don't have many people to feed!
I added a dark chocolate garnish to break up the amount of sweet in the dish, but it's completely optional!
Banana Pudding is such a classic. It can be made in so many different ways and everyone will still enjoy every bite out of it! My family enjoys it with less layers, but my in-laws like the dessert with more! So you can alter these instructions to cater to how your guests or family like it!
This recipe calls for very little ingredients and can be whipped up in minutes. It's a perfect last-minute dessert that still tastes incredible! I always make sure to have these ingredients on hand just in case I need to make a dessert unexpectedly.
The vanilla and banana flavors are so delicious together. Your taste buds literally start jumping once you eat a spoonful of this banana heaven. You can even garnish it with things like chocolate shreds like I did, crushed walnuts, coconut, whipped cream, or enjoy it as is!
Prep Time: 20 minutes Serves: 8 People
Cook Time: N/A
Total Time: 1 hr. and 20 minutes
INGREDIENTS
3 Boxes of Banana flavored Instant pudding mix
6 cups Cold Milk (for the pudding)
4 Bananas, sliced in circles
1 Box of Vanilla Wafers
Dark Chocolate shreds, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix the 3 packets of banana pudding mix and the cold milk with a whisk until thoroughly combined. Let sit.
In any glass dish that you prefer (8 mini glass bowls, a 9x13 dish, a round 10-in. deep dish), add one layer of vanilla wafers so that the entire bottom is covered.
Add a layer of sliced bananas on top of that.
Now that you have the first two layers down, the pudding should be a bit thicker. Using a spoon, add a layer of pudding on top of the bananas to fill the dish 1/3 of the way. You should be using 1/2 of the pudding mix. Spread evenly with a spatula.
Repeat steps 2-4 one more time (Use the rest of the pudding)
Add a layer of wafers on top of the pudding (feel free to get creative and make a design out of them because this is your final layer!)
Garnish with whatever you like.
Let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour to chill.
Serve and enjoy!
